HST112.SP11.CMU: WWI Lecturecast
I have posted the PowerPoint slides for the lecturecast on US involvement in the First World War. I have also posted the first link to the video lecturecast. This week, I have broken the lecturecast into three short parts, each geared toward a specific question, for ease of transmission and listening. Part 1 is up now, part 2 is uploading as I type, and part 3 will be queued for upload shortly after. Check the Lectures/Resources page to find this material. We will have the quiz over this lecturecast at the beginning of class on Thursday, 24 February 2011. For Tuesday, 22 February, be sure you have done the assigned reading. Ping me if you have questions.

HST112.SP11.CMU: Remixing the Next Two Weeks
I’m going to be altering our schedule for the next couple of weeks in class to better balance out the various issues we will be exploring (Progressivism, World War One, etc).
First, for Tuesday, 8 Feb, pleased be prepared to discuss the relevant chapter from Guarneri dealing with US Imperialism. We will also talk a little about the lecturecast I put up on Friday, as well as have a quiz over the material.
Second, next Thursday, 10 Feb, we will start our discussion of the Progressive Era, focusing on the lecturecast that is going live tonight and the relevant chapter from Guarneri. Yes, we will have a quiz over the Progressive Era lecturecast on Thursday.
Lastly, I will be extending the due date for the Critical Response Essay for Scott Martelle’s Blood Passion. It will no longer be due on 10 Feb; instead it will be due the following Tuesday, 15 Feb.
As usual, links for the lecturecasts can be found on the Lectures/Resources page. Ping me if you have questions.
HST112.SP11.CMU: Late Lecturecast Update
My apologies, 112′ers. Due to a variety of circumstances, I wasn’t able to finish and upload the lecturecast for this week on US Imperialism. So here’s what will happen. The lecturecast will go up Tuesday morning. In class Tuesday afternoon we will open our discussion on imperialism by looking at the assigned Guarneri chapter and another activity I was planning for class. Thursday we will have the quiz and then break for PowerPoint work. If you have any questions for me, just let me know.
HST112.SP11.CMU: Industrialization Lecturecasts Part II
A quick heads up, CMU peeps. I have posted the PWPT slides and the lecturecast (in 2 parts…watch both) for our continued look at US Industrialization this week. Because it has taken me a bit to get this posted, I will not be holding a quiz over the material on Tuesday. Instead, I will administer the quiz on Thursday at the beginning of class before we then break for the Presentation Research Day. I will explain this further on Tuesday if you have any questions before we start engaging in the two reading selections.
